As a former membership director and professional golfer, I spent a lot of time in the Delray Beach area playing, practicing, and learning about the different country club options. I can tell you that as great as a golf course is, potential members are most interested in the cost. If you are wondering how much does it cost to join a country club in Delray Beach you are in the right place.

How Much Does It Cost To Join A Country Club in Delray Beach, Florida?

To join a country club in Delray Beach, expect to pay from $700 to $1500 a month in dues. Initiation fees range from $20,000 to more than $150,000. Some Delray Beach Country Clubs have a waiting list for membership; others require you to purchase a house in the neighborhood if you want to join.

6 Delray Beach Country Clubs and Their Pricing

A few of the country clubs that we have detailed in this section are located in Boynton Beach. However, I picked clubs within just a second of Delray. You’ll still be in the same general area if you join any of these golf clubs, with a few-minute ride to downtown Delray.

Country Club of Florida

The Country Club of Florida is more of a golf course than anything else. If you have extra money to throw down on a country club initiation fee, you’ll find impressive course conditions and an excellent spot for serious golfers. Country Club of Florida has dues of around $12,500 annually, and initiation is rumored to be over $100,000. The key here is that you have to join because of the golf.

Delray Dunes Golf and Country Club

Delray Dunes in Boynton Beach, just north of Delray, is a player-friendly 18-hole course with great people and a vibrant community. It may be a coincidence, but every member I’ve met from Delray Dunes has been a nice person who loves the course. Initiation costs are $50,000, and golf membership dues are nearly $14,000 a year.

Hunters Run Country Club

Hunters Run is truly a country club with various amenities, including pools, tennis, pickleball, and dining options. If you get bored with just one course, the 54-hole design can certainly help.

Initiation fee is $86,000 at Hunters Run and dues are around $16,000-$18,000 depending on what type of access you are looking for. This one may not be the perfect choice if you are a true golf enthusiast

Indian Spring Country Club

Indian Spring is also in Boynton and just a little further west than some other clubs on the list. You’ll find more affordability here, with initiation starting closer to $10,000 instead of $100,000. There are 72 holes of golf here, so you shouldn’t have a hard time getting on the course. It’s a more inclusive atmosphere with a strong social environment and a focus on affordability.

The Club at Quail Ridge

The Club at Quail Ridge is where my old neighbors moved when they were finished with New York. I’ve played this one several times, and I’ve always been impressed. There are 36 holes at Quail Ridge, and they just did a major renovation of the clubhouse and facilities. Initiation fees are around $70,000, and then there are various dues options based on how you want to live.

One nice thing about Quail is the different housing options you get inside the gates. If you don’t want a mansion, there are condos to help keep the costs down. It’s a fun place with a lot of great people.

The Seagate Country Club

If you aren’t living inside the gates of The Seagate Country Club, you may have to wait a bit for a membership. However, the really special part about this place is the access to the beach club. For the $16,200 a year dues price, you will belong to the Seagate Golf Club and the Beach Club. It’s a great benefit to have. The $30,000 initiation fee is in place for both membership types.

We did a full review of The Seagate Country Club here; they have updated a lot with the most recent renovation.

Membership Types for Delray Beach Country Clubs

If golf membership isn’t your thing, there are other types of memberships you can look for at Delray Beach Country Clubs. Mostly, the sports and social type memberships, but you may also find junior, individual, and even national golf membership.

  • Full Golf Membership: access to all facilities, cart fees, and extras like food and beverage minimums may still apply.
  • Junior Membership: traditionally available for any golfers under age 50, pricing usually increases with age.
  • Sports Membership: use of dining facilities, sports facilities, pool, and wellness; traditionally, no golf course access or limited to a few times per year.

Benefits of Joining A Country Club In Delray Beach

Joining a country club in Delray Beach will help you enjoy access to year round golf and entertainment. Having lived in Delray Beach for more than 10 years, I can tell you there are a few other important benefits of joining a country club in Delray Beach.

Public Courses

The public golf course situation in Delray Beach gets busy quickly, and the conditions are not great. Delray Beach Golf Club is a nice design, but it’s not all that well maintained, and you often have to fight to get a tee time. Westchester is nice, but it’s not as close to Delray. Cypress Creek I’ve actually always liked but it’s not cheap for what you get.

Public golf in Delray and Boynton will be more affordable than private club golf, but this is a get-what-you-pay-for situation.

Weather All Year Long

Some people pay more money than members of clubs in Delray Beach and they can only use the club for a few months of the year. The great thing about living in this part of the world is that you can really justify those membership costs because you can use the club 365 days a year.

The summer is hot, but there is no reason you can’t get out early and enjoy a round of golf.

Lifestyle and Family Benefits

The country club is supposed to be a home away from home. It gives you a place where you feel like you can enjoy yourself, let go of stress, and spend time with friends and family. Golf is something you can do well into your 80’s and a country club is a perfect place to set yourself up to do that.

That’s really what you pay for when you join.

Final Thoughts

Hopefully you now have a better idea as to how much it costs to join a country club in Delray Beach. Some of these clubs are in the Boynton area but no further than just a few-minute drive to Delray. This is one of my favorite areas in all of Florida. If you are moving here and have some money for an initiation fee, you’ll have plenty of great options to choose from.
