When we first started playing pickleball, we bought a cheap Niupipo family pickleball set that actually did quite well for us for quite some time. The set came with a pickleball bag, and after about a year of use, the bag was done.
When ordering a new pickleball bag for the family, we wanted to make sure that all four paddles could fit with ease. You may understand why if you know anything about 8 and 6-year-olds keeping track of their own sports gear!
We recently ordered the Sucipi Pickleball Bag, tested it over the last few weeks, and now have some feedback on whether this is a good option for you.
Sucipi Pickleball Bag: At A Glance
I won’t make you wait until the end of the review to determine if this bag is worth it. If you want something cheap, lightweight, and capable of fitting several pickleball paddles, the Sucipi is a good choice.
We get our four paddles in with ease, and there is still room for a few balls. Here are the key features of the bag.
Reversible Shoulder Straps
The shoulder straps allow you to use the bag as a backpack. I like this feature a lot. It’s not that the bag gets overly heavy; it’s just nice to walk onto and off of the courts with both hands free.
With this pickleball backpack from Sucipi, you can also wear it as a crossbody backpack for either men or women.
Large Capacity
With the way the zipper closure works on the bag, it’s really easy to get four paddles in. The specification for the Sucipi back claims that it is 14in x 10in x 19in.
In addition to the large main pouch that carries the paddles, you also get 5 pockets and an external water bottle holder.
Sucipi claims you can fit 6 pickleball paddles in the bag. I don’t doubt this, but I think you would be dealing with the same issues we have had in the past and fabric stretching at the zippers. I would limit the capacity to 4 paddles.
- REVERSIBLE SHOULDER STRAPS: With the zippered and adjustable straps, this pickleball bag for women men can be used as a pickleball backpack, you can also wear it as a pickleball bag for 4 paddles, a crossbody backpack for women men etc. Comfortable, padded shoulder strap easily flips between the LEFT and RIGHT sides. No matter which side you prefer to wear your sling bag, we’ve got you covered.
- LARGE CAPACITY : Our pickleball bag head with enough storage space(14inch x 10inch x 19inch), feature 5 pockets and external water bottle holder. Main compartment can hold up to 6 pickleball paddles, 20 pickleball balls or up to a 15 inch laptop. It can be used as pickleball sling bags for women men or pickleball backpack for women men.
In addition, with 6 paddles, you won’t fit too many balls in the other pocket.
The bag can also be used for tennis, but I think it s a little short for a tennis bag.
Waterproof and Durable
The bag is waterproof; the nylon fabric is pretty tough. In fact, I have hope that this bag will hold up for quite some time. We went with the blue color to help hide some dirt. There are color options for 12 different colors.
The heavy-duty zippers don’t get caught easily, and you can tell they are a step above some of the other cheap pickleball bags on the market.
Pros and Cons of The Sucipi Pickleball Bag
For the most part, I like this bag. It’s not the cheapest one on the market, and it’s far from the most expensive, but it’s a good product with some features that are worth considering if you need a new pickleball bag in 2023.
Pros
- The hook at the top of the bag makes it easy to latch onto a court fence
- Backpack style for ease of use
- Claims to hold 6 paddles; I would go with four
- Shoulder strap can flip between the left and right sides
- 5 pockets
- Plenty of room for balls and paddles
- It can be used for tennis as well
- Hidden valuables pocket for a phone
- 13 color options to choose from
- Made with a durable and waterproof nylon material
Cons
- It’s a little lightweight and cheap feeling
- 5 pockets may be more than needed for pickleball
- The bag claims to be a multi purpose for school, work, etc.; its a pickleball bag
- Shoulder strap adjustment is a little hard to work with
- Shoulder straps are thin
- Not too much protection for high-end pickleball paddles
Who Should Buy The Sucipi Pickleball Bag?
If you are like us and play pickleball recreationally with two to four people in one household, the Sucipi pickleball backpack is a good choice. It’s reasonably priced, made from good materials, and comes in colors that can help your gear stand out from others on the court.
If you are a pickleball player who spends most days on the court and wants to have all your gear well protected, properly stored, and organized with your first aid kit and sunscreen, etc., I may upgrade a bit to something like the Athletico Pickleball Backpack to have a little extra space.
The Bottom Line: Is The Sucipi Pickleball Bag Worth It?
If you are still walking on and off the course with your paddle in one hand and a few pickleball in another, the Sucipi is a perfect solution. You will stay organized, look good doing it, and you won’t break the bank. Importantly, it will catch the eye of your pickleball friends. Choose a color that stands out, so you always know where your gear is. Be smart about how you put the paddles in the bag, there is not a ton of protection, and they can scratch.
