Is it just us, or are there not enough reviews of junior golf shoes and equipment on the internet? We recently tested two different pairs of PUMA junior golf shoes to see how they faired on the course. As a golf professional, I’m not really sold on putting kids in golf shoes until they get somewhere that sneakers do just fine. However, our overall experience with both PUMA kid’s golf shoes was quite positive. Here’s what we found.
PUMA GOLF Unisex-Child Ignite Pwrcage Junior Golf Shoe Review
The PUMA Golf Unisex Child Ignite Pwrcage is a comfortable and stable golf shoe for kids. My 9-year-old son tested these shoes. He’s just starting to get into the game and getting a little more speed in his swing.
His last pair of shoes were spikeless.
When we talked with him about the PUMA shoes, he immediately commented, “These hold me in place better than my old shoes.”
The best part of the shoe for him is the BOA tie system. Not having to hear us remind him to tie his shoes is a huge win!
- IGNITE Foam: Revolutionary and proprietary midsole foam provides energy return, responsive comfort, stable cushioning, and superior step-in comfort.
- True to size

Country Club Content Final Verdict
These are great golf shoes for kids. I don’t always love black golf shoes, but when it comes to 9-year-old boys (and the mud and dirt they find), black shoes are a great choice. The BOA system, overall comfort, and 1-year warranty make these a pretty good value for a kid with a fast-growing foot.
PUMA Unisex-Child Fusion Evo Jr. Golf Shoe
My daughter is 7, and this is her first pair of golf shoes. She mentioned that she now “looks official,” and we tend to agree.
I like these Puma Fusion golf shoes for kids. I think back to my first pair of golf shoes. They were fun to wear because I loved the game, but they were terrible when it came to comfort.
For younger kids, the Puma Fusion offers plenty of comfort.
It’s a spikeless design, which is fine for her, but if you have a kid who is really working on gaining speed, you may want to look at a spiked shoe.
It depends on how your child is with balance and stability.

Country Club Content Final Verdict
The Puma Fusion kids’ golf shoes are comfortable, come in various colors, and are durable. I do feel that when compared to sneakers, the kids get a bit more traction, even though it’s a spikeless design.
If you have a kid like mine who wants to “look official,” I would try these. The shoe makes a great transition into a first pair of golf shoes for kids.
