Savannah, GA, may not be known as the world’s golf capital. However, the climate allows for 12 months of golf, and there are some great country clubs to join. If you live in the area, are considering moving or simply want to know how much does it cost to join a country club in Savannah, you are in the right place. As a former golf professional, membership director, and resident of Savannah, GA, I’ll give you all the details you need.
How Much Does It Cost To Join A Country Club in Savannah, GA?
The initiation fees for country clubs in Savannah, GA, range from around $15,000 to over $75,0000. Annual dues are typically in the $500 to $1500 per month range. Savannah offers a mix of exclusive high-end and family-type average-priced country clubs.
The Landings Club is one of the most well known in the area, and it has an initial fee of $60,000, but it’s gone up considerably in the last few years as the club has undergone renovations and improvements.
You’ll find lower initiation fees at a club like Savannah Quarters, but the Ford Field and River Club closer to Richmond Hill has an initiation fee that can go as high as $100,000. In my biased opinion, any Pete Dye golf course is worth paying just a little extra for!

Membership Types for Savannah Country Clubs
All country clubs offer different membership types. You can almost always count on some form of full golf, social, and sports-type membership. When meeting with the membership director of a private club, make sure they lay out precisely what each membership category offers. Here are a few you are likely to find.
Full Golf Membership (Family Membership)
Almost always the highest category, this one should give you full access to everything at the club. At some country clubs, this may be called an equity membership. These memberships include everyone in your family (under the age of 23 or 24).
Junior Golf Membership Categories
Young professionals often work all week long and won’t have the chance to use the golf course much. The junior golf membership category lowers the dues (and sometimes initiation) to reflect that. The great thing about junior golf members is that they are the club’s future,, so it’s worth getting them in the door!
National Golf Memberships
National golf memberships are for those who call Savannah a second home. Many people who live in Savannah also have a home in the Blue Ridge Mountains. If you can call Blue Ridge home, you may be able to work out a deal with a club to have a slightly lower price for your Savannah country club membership.
Sports
Sports memberships include tennis, pickleball, fitness centers, pools, and access to all the dining facilities. Some clubs also allow sports members to play 6-10 rounds of golf a year (but they will come at an additional cost).
Social or Dining Membership
The social or dining membership is often restricted to just the use of the dining facilities at a country club. However, some country clubs will also allow social membership to include pools. You’ll have to get the specifics of this when you join.

Before joining a country club, list the things that would matter most to you as part of a country club. You’ll then want to find a club that checks as many boxes as possible for you. Here is somewhat you can expect:

What Are The Benefits of Joining a Country Club In Savannah?
Joining a country club in Savannah is a great option for avid golfers. The public golf scene in Savannah is fine with options like Crosswinds and Bacon Park. However, you’ll need to join a club if you want better golf course conditions and a more exclusive atmosphere,.
I can also tell you that as a Savannah resident, I play golf pretty much 12 months a year. Even in December and January, when the coldest temperatures hit, you can still find 50-degree days to enjoy a round of golf.
Savannah Georgia Country Club Spotlight: The Landings Club
The Landings Golf & Athletic Club is one of the most well-known country clubs in the Savannah area. The club has six championship golf courses, and is located inside a gated community with over 4,000 homes.
At the Landings, the people are active, and they use the club to the fullest. However, when you find the right spot for you and your family, it’s money you’ll be content to pay out each month.
