One of the most notable golf cart manufacturers in the industry is Club Car. I currently own a Club Car Precedent that is used multiple times per week on the golf course. Club Car vehicles were first introduced in 1958 and have been constructed with reliability in mind ever since. If you’re in the market for a new or used golf cart, it is important to know the recreational models. Here is a year by year Club Car golf cart models guide since 2010.

Club Car Golf Cart Models Description

Without question, you will have options in mind when it comes to purchasing a new or used Club Car. As a country club member, you’re going to want to focus on comfort in combination with reliability. For the most part, country club members will be required to use electric golf carts versus gas-powered golf carts. Explore the chart defining the Club Car models since 2010 and know that each comes with a range of options.

The retail prices are highly dependent on golf cart accessories. The final price will vary based on car accessories. Some of the more notable add-on features include seat belts, lithium ion golf cart batteries, seat upgrades, and more.

Some of the most common Club Cars seen at country clubs today is the Precedent, Onward, and Tempo. The specific models are widely owned in golf communities, and each has a sleek design.

Precedent

The Precedent model is one of the more classic varieties in the fleet. Despite it being a classic, it is still considered a stylish golf cart. I have owned a Precedent for several years and am highly satisfied.

Precedent Club Cars are capable of taking the punishment of rough terrain, which is why they often double as golf course fleet carts. For the most part, you won’t find advanced features in Precedent fleet carts.

The Precedent was made in two-passenger vehicles and four-passenger vehicles. Forward of the small black plastic bumper is a sizeable bag well for your golf clubs to sit and remain stable. For this reason, you’ll have an exceptional golf course experience when utilizing a Precedent. However, please understand that they were no longer produced after 2016.

Onward

The Club Car Onward is highly versatile. Not only is it perfect for golf but also as a means of transportation in the neighborhood. Importantly, my father in-law purchased a 4 seat Onward which he uses for golf on a weekly basis. However, it doubles as a comfortable electric vehicle when going to dinner with friends and family.

Fortunately, the Onward comes in multiple seating arrangements. You’ll have the option to choose from a 2 passenger, 4 passenger, and 6 passenger. Additionally, when ordering a new Onward, a list of addons will be available, which includes accessories, seating configurations, and colors. However, if you plan to golf with the cart, ensure the club will allow body colors outside of white.

Tempo

One of the more recent models produced by Club Car is the Tempo. New Tempos offers a smooth ride and ergonomic seats. The Tempo can be described as a mix of the Precedent and Onward. While the design is more closely related to the Onward, the features are a contribution of the Precedent.

Similar to the Onward, the Tempo is available in a 2 seater, 4 seater, and 6 seater. Purchasing a Tempo will give you the opportunity to cruise the neighborhood or play a round of golf.

How Much Is A Club Car

In the United States, you can expect to pay between $8,000 and $23,000 for a new Club Car. Again, the pricing is highly dependent on the seating arrangement in addition to the features, including premium colors. Importantly, you’ll need to factor in government fees.

Any Club Car Golf Cart Model will have options when building a package. It is important to contact dealership’s sales to determine final pricing and if there are any available promotional programs.

Lastly, if you plan to finance your new Club Car after making a down payment, credit history will be taken into consideration lastly, as if you will be issued destination charges. Without question, newer model carts are in high demand. With that said, most new cart orders come directly from the manufacturer as the dealerships are unable to keep carts in stock, considering the demand.

How Much Is A Used Club Car

The pricing of a used Club Car is highly dependent on the condition of the cart. If the owner selling the cart fails to perform proper golf cart maintenance, it will be visible to a prospective buyer. For the most part, used golf carts will range between $2,000 and $16,000.

Club Car ModelEstimated Base MSRP
Onward 2 Passenger$8,000 – $10,000
Onward 4 Passenger$9,000 – $11,000
Onward 6 Passenger$11,000 – $13,000
Onward Lifted 4 Passenger$10,000 – $12,000
Tempo 2 Passenger$7,500 – $9,500
Tempo 4 Passenger$8,500 – $10,500
Tempo Walk$6,000 – $8,000
Villager 2$8,000 – $10,000
Villager 2 LSV (Low Speed Vehicle)$10,000 – $12,000

However, it is never a bad idea to consider a used cart for your first golf cart, but car reliability is of importance. You don’t want to buy a used cart and have it break down in the middle of playing a round. So when shopping for a used Club Car, remember to ask for the model year and for the maintenance records. Club Car parts are available but you don’t want to make hundreds or thousands in repairs after making the purchase.

Club Car Golf Cart Models: Pick What’s Best For You

As a country club member, you’ll want a new golf cart or used golf cart that is comfortable and reliable. Without question, Club Car delivers both. I recommend buying a cart with front lights and tail lights so that you can cruise the neighborhood after the sun has set. As far as product offering Club Car has it all. Remember to insure the golf cart in the event it is damaged. Golf cart insurance is low in cost and is required by most country club communities.
