How To Choose A Golf Cart Brand
No question about it: there are a lot of manufacturers in the golf cart industry. Whether you are looking for a reasonable price or cutting-edge features, you’ll find what you’re looking for in one of the brands of electric carts.
The Availability Of The Golf Cart Brand
One of the biggest determining factors when buying a new golf cart is the availability of the brand. Unfortunately, not every golf cart dealership will carry each of the different golf cart brands. With that said, you may have to settle for the best option available unless you’re willing to pay a high delivery fee.
Conversely, when buying used, you’re more likely to find a wide range of options. In some cases, people move from one golf cart community to another. For this reason, different brands that are not found in particular areas are introduced into neighborhoods and may come up for sale.
I recommend contacting your local golf cart dealers when buying a new one. You should inquire not only about the brands but also the product line. In some cases, you may be able to get an in-person look at a multitude of golf carts from varying manufacturers.
Golf Cart Price Point
An important factor when buying a golf cart is the price point. It should be noted that carts with advanced lithium battery technology are higher in cost compared to those with lead-acid batteries. Another factor that influences the price point is the number of seats. When comparing a cart with 2 seats versus 6 seats, the 6-seater is more expensive.
If you’re in the market for a golf cart, understand that premium golf cart brands such as Club Car and Garia will be more costly. These types of carts are built with high-quality components. It is essential to consider your budget to make the best choice in purchasing a new or used golf cart.
The Length And Coverage Of A Warranty
Importantly, when buying a new golf cart, it will come with some sort of warranty to cover the failure of parts for up to a certain number of years. Unfortunately, used carts, unless they are still under the factory warranty, will not be covered. In some cases, a dealership will offer one month of coverage.
With that said, it is nice to have a warranty to fall back on when you have your own golf cart. It takes hard work to purchase electric or gas carts, so having some protection is beneficial. I recommend comparing the warranties offered by different golf cart manufacturers. In some cases, you may be able to select a brand that offers a more robust warranty package compared to others.
Weight Your Options Before Buying A Golf Cart
Every year, golf cart manufacturers are introducing key new technology and sleek designs. However, you need to make sure you pick the right model the first time. Without question, if you’re a member of a country club, you’re going to want to pick some brands over others for the simple fact of whether or not they are designed to hold golf clubs. I have owned an EZ-Go and Club Car. Both have been perfect for golf and recreational use around the neighborhood. Remember, there isn’t one best golf cart brand. What is most important is to find what suits your needs the best.
